PV, an Indian shuttler Sindhu earned the bronze medal after beating China’s world number nine He Bing Xiao 21-13, 21-15 in the bronze medal match on Sunday. Sindhu, the world number seven, had little trouble winning this match, which she completed in 52 minutes.
She previously won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Sindhu is now the second Indian to win two medals in the Olympics. Wrestler Sushil Kumar has already accomplished this rare feat. Sushil earned bronze in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and silver in the 2012 Olympics in London (2012).

This is India’s third medal in the Olympic badminton tournament overall. Aside from Sindhu, Saina Nehwal has also won an Olympic medal. Saina has won a bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
