In the first teaser for Antoine Fuqua’s crime thriller The Guilty, Jake Gyllenhaal answers a terrifying 911 call. Along with Jake, the film stars Riley Keough, Bill Burr, and Ethan Hawke. It will be available on Netflix on October 1st, after a limited theatrical release.
The film is a remake of Den skyldige, directed by Gustav Moller and released in Denmark in 2018. That was well received by the crowd, and it paved the door for a Hollywood sequel. Because Antoine obtained the rights to the 2018 film, the plot is likely to be continued along the same lines. Jake was seen in the classic Nightcrawler, which is considered to be some of his finest work, so he is no stranger to being a part of offbeat thrillers. He was also recently seen in Dan Gilroy’s Velvet Buzzsaw.
