Ogami Conquest announced it is one of the recipients of PolgyonDao’s July Village grant, spreading excitement throughout the MOBA community. This grant is the next step in an expansive move by Polygon DAOs DeFi sector to transform blockchain-based systems.
As the demand for NFTs continues to soar, it comes as no surprise that Ogami Conquest was chosen as one of the grants grantees. Ogami Conquest entered uncharted territory as it became the first Play and Earn multiplayer online battle arena or MOBA game to utilize NFTs as breedable and playable characters. This groundbreaking move gave players complete ownership over their NFTs and became a governance model using a DPO showing how to bridge the chasm between developers and players.
Currently, many NFT games use multiple token ecosystems for governance, utilizing a main token DAO that often lacks proper governance structures and secondary tokens which are highly inflationary and fail to provide real utility. Ogami Conquest figured out a way to create a new direction for blockchain gaming through tokenomics.
Ogami Conquest introduced its revolutionary new governance model inspired by analyzing real-world cases and translating them into a new gaming context. The result is a gaming ecosystem that is fully community-owned with transparent, ethical, and fair communicative structures between developers and players.
How Does Ogami Accomplish This Goal?
Manual Hyperinflation Adjustments
To combat the problem of NFTs falling victim to hyperinflation, Ogami Conquest put manual safeguards in place.
Defining A Clear “Start” Time
Defining a clear “start” of the game and letting players know when they can begin in-game tasks and start breeding takes away uncertainty, which can cause demand fluctuations.
Fair Breeding and Entry Fees
Ogami Conquest will make all NFT breeding a dollar value of $25 in OGM tokens and will adjust the fee constantly to this dollar value. This cap makes NFT gaming accessible to virtually everyone. This move also prevents skyrocketing entry fees during times of high demand and low supply.
Every Kodari NFT will be recyclable and backed by the tokens used to breed it. This move allows the player to recoup 50% of their tokens if they choose to burn them.
In case of oversupply, a buy-back treasury will open to buy used Kodari and burn them, helping keep the ecosystem balanced.
The Future Of DAOs In The Gaming Ecosystem
Although DAOs work well in many blockchain systems, their chaotic and capital-driven nature may not fit well in a gaming ecosystem. Ogami developed the idea of a Decentralized Parliamentary Organization that takes real-world governance and models it to fit the gaming ecosystem. Instead of a direct democracy, there are Developers and High Councils that must agree to pass proposals. It will also include a Player Council with elected representatives that speak for the community as a whole. Additionally, multiple security measures and a “three try” referendum is in place that turns decisions over to direct voting if a resolution isn’t presented after three attempts.
Ogami Conquest is changing the face of blockchain gaming. It will be exciting to see how the game will use PolgyonDao’s July Village grant to continue its vision of creating a revolutionary gaming ecosystem that puts ownership in the hands of the players where it belongs!
